Ingredients
  

  • 6 tablespoons salted butter
  • 15 oz miniature marshmallows about 8½ cups total
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
Optional:
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons sprinkles
  • ¼ teaspoon salt if using unsalted butter

Method
 

  1. Lightly grease or line a 9×13 inch pan with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat.
  3. Add about 10 oz of marshmallows and stir gently until fully melted and smooth. Keep heat low.
  4. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Add cereal and mix gently until coated.
  6. Fold in remaining marshmallows for extra gooey texture.
  7. Transfer mixture to prepared pan and gently press into place without compacting.
  8. Let cool at room temperature for 30 to 60 minutes before cutting.
