Ingredients
Method
Step 1
- Pour 2 to 3 ounces of cold water into a small bowl. Sprinkle the gelatin evenly over the surface and let it sit for 5 minutes until fully bloomed.
Step 2
- Heat the remaining water or bone broth until it reaches approximately 130 to 140°F. Do not allow it to boil.
Step 3
- Slowly pour the warm liquid over the bloomed gelatin while stirring continuously until completely dissolved.
Step 4
- Stir in the raw honey and sea salt. Add the optional ginger, turmeric, or lemon juice if desired. Mix until smooth.
Step 5
- Serve immediately while warm for the best texture. Enjoy within 30 to 60 minutes after exercise if using it as part of your recovery routine.
Notes
- Always bloom the gelatin before adding warm liquid to prevent lumps.
- Keep the liquid below boiling for the smoothest consistency.
- Grass fed bovine gelatin can be substituted if horse gelatin is unavailable.
- This recipe is best prepared fresh before serving.
