Ingredients
  

  • 2- inch piece fresh ginger root
  • 4 cups filtered water
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice optional
  • Stevia or monk fruit optional

Method
 

  1. Wash the ginger root and slice it thinly or grate it.
  2. Bring 4 cups of filtered water to a gentle boil.
  3. Add the ginger and reduce the heat to low.
  4. Cover and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. Strain the ginger water into a heat-safe container.
  6. Stir in fresh lemon juice, if using.
  7. Serve warm, or cool and refrigerate for a chilled ginger drink.
