Ingredients
  

  • 8 cups cold filtered water
  • ½ large cucumber sliced thin (about ⅛ inch)
  • 1 medium lemon sliced about ¼ inch thick with seeds removed
  • 10 to 12 fresh mint leaves optional
  • Few sprigs fresh basil optional

Method
 

  1. Wash cucumber, lemon, and herbs thoroughly.
  2. Slice cucumber thin and cut lemon into thicker rounds.
  3. Add ingredients to a large glass pitcher.
  4. Lightly press slices using the back of a wooden spoon.
  5. Pour in cold filtered water.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for 1 to 3 hours.
  7. Remove lemon slices after 4 to 6 hours for a smoother flavor.
  8. Serve chilled.
