- 5 to 6 whole cloves
Optional:
- 2 –3 slices fresh ginger
- 1 small cinnamon stick
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup

Boil water and let it rest for 30 seconds.
Place cloves (and optional ingredients) in a mug.
Pour hot water over them.
Steep for 5 to 10 minutes.
Strain and serve warm.
